My life was turned upside down the day I was told I have melanoma. It was an even bigger shock to discover that it was stage 4.
I was vigilant in pointing out a suspicious mark on my forehead for 4 years to the dermatologist. I was told it was just a mole and I was being paranoid. It was only removed after I begged him to do so... all he said was 'sorry I should have listened to you'...
Research into finding a cure and life prolonging drugs is so important. Without the MIA I would not be receiving treatment and my life expectancy would be much more grim. I have a fighting chance.
